United Airlines will resume flights between Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport and Chihuahua Airport in northern Mexico on March 28, 2027. The route will mark the airline’s return to Chihuahua after last serving it in 2020, according to Cirium schedule data.

The service will use a Bombardier CRJ-550 configured with 10 first-class seats, 20 extra-legroom economy seats and 20 standard economy seats. United will join American Airlines as a U.S. carrier serving Chihuahua Airport.

Chihuahua state tourism secretary Edibray Gómez Gallegos said the connection would improve access to the state and reflects interest among North American travelers in its attractions.

The route is among United’s planned network additions for 2027, even as the airline industry faces higher fuel costs. CEO Scott Kirby has said United could cut unprofitable flights if fuel prices remain elevated. The airline is also set to add routes from San Francisco and Chicago, while ending service to Tulum, Mexico, in January.
